Love Someone has been given the remix treatment by label newcomers DJ Tipz and Fromwood, both of them adding their signature sound to the classic cut from label boss Atjazz’s Full Circle album. With Robert Owens on soothing vocal duties, the original song has enjoyed a lot of airplay since its release a few years ago, gaining international support from DJ’s such as Gilles Peterson & Louie Vega.Love Someone has been given the remix treatment by label newcomers DJ Tipz and Fromwood, both of them adding their signature sound to the classic cut from label boss Atjazz’s Full Circle album. With Robert Owens on soothing vocal duties, the original song has enjoyed a lot of airplay since its release a few years ago, gaining international support from DJ’s such as Gilles Peterson & Louie Vega. A big remix responsibility like this might unnerve a lesser producer, but not these guys. It only takes one listen to hear DJ Tipz and Fromwood flicking the musical dust off their shoulder, as they both settle into comfortable rhythms that not only stand next to the original, but become their own entity. DJ Tipz takes his afro percussion to the next level and washes the mix in heart-warming chords that are sure to bring a smile to the face of listeners across the scene. Fromwood lets us have it with 2 mixes, showing off his different areas of production expertise. The Fromwood remix highlights his love for the deep with a no frills four to the floor remix to get the people moving. The World Soul remix switches things up and offers a different take and wouldn’t seem out of place in the Jazzanova section of you record collection. Fromwood keeps it tight with broken beat drum patterns and expertly programmed fills. For an optimum listening experience, ARCo recommends a side serving of Sun, Sea and Sand.

This album is a vibe. I found it on the internet by accident in 2001. It was the dopest thing ever. It was fresh and expansive and extended the genius of the original artists. I love Jazz, Hip Hop, House, and R&B, and this album has elements of all of that yet is its own thing. There's a freedom in the approach to this album that I celebrate. It is essential and here I am over 20 years later still singing its praises. A classic. dynamitesoul
